About Kathy Patterson

Kathy Patterson is a continuing Lecturer in the UCSB Writing Program. She teaches entry level and first year writing classes and upper division courses in writing for the Humanities and the Social Sciences and Writing in Community. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley (in Van Nuys) and attended college and graduate school in Santa Barbara. She is married and has two sometimes surly teenaged sons and two ill-mannered but incredibly sweet dogs. When she's not teaching, she enjoys taking long beach walks (since her knees are now too far gone for basketball), cooking, gardening, listening to music, and indulging in way too much of what technology has to offer. And, of course, writing.
